The lacquer always peals on those engines, due to the heat. Its a bit of a pain to take it off and re-paint. Its something I'll do if I decide to keep it. I might dye the leather black again to remove the cracks etc etc, but considering the seat is 21 years old, it is in very good condition. I've seen much worse on much newer, high mile cars.

Bought this to smoke around it while my Golf is being fixed, although I am starting to really, really like it.
Noooooo, please read Mr. I made a shit video of a doughnut so I'm cool.
I'm looking to sell the Golf to fund something more Raw and Hardcore.
If you read it properly then you would of known that.
I did put a deposit on a RB25 powered R32 Skyline with 400bhp a couple months ago, but the sale fell through. - Thats no bullshit either, I actually have the receipt here with me.
Bawbag - I am actually a member there. Only made a few posts. I'm guessing your a member there then? HERE is my profile there.
I had to scrap my BMW 318i Saloon due to rust I went to have the windscreen replaced to find it was totally rotted. I was gutted.
Then I bought a BMW 320 Coupe (E36) - 17" Genuine M3 alloys, full leather interior, M3 Steering wheel, etc. etc.
I then sold that, got a much, much better job and thought it was time to upgrade to something newer, quicker and more sensible...
I bought a 2001 VW Golf V5 - 2.3, 5 Cylinder, 20v. - 17" RS4 Style Alloys, Lowered 30mm, Window Tints, OnBoard Computer (MPG, Range etc.) Digital Climate Control, GTi Rear lights.
But now, the Golf is about to go up for sale. Its nice and quick, but I'm after something more "raw" and "hardcore" and something turbo. I was looking at R32/R33 Skyline's, S14a Silvias and the like, but I not longer have a traders policy so something like that is out the question.

Jakg - I had to scrap it after I went to put a new windscreen in and found it was rotted But don't worry, I bought another. It was a 320 Coupe so I was rocking 6 cylinders and 2 doors Although I've now sold that and got a 2001 VW Golf V5 2.3 20v with 170bhp. Currently trying to sell it for something turbo and RWD. Been looking at Skylines, Silvias, that kind of thing.
I have seen S14Daft on MSN a few time, not spoken to him. I met him in real life after a week long Mooooooo meeting. Nice guy, went proper emo towards the end though.
Gotta ask, is that kid who spent daddys money and had no respect for his own and others belongings. His dad worked in a pharmacy - Can't remember his name, it began with an H - is he still around?
I don't know if any of you guys remember me, but I would like to say I'm back and introduce myself to a few of the new guys and refresh a few of the older guys memories
My racename is Looney. I used to race in Moo.Racing along side S14Daft (Drift) - before the team fell apart after Rusescape caused most of the members to stop playing LFS.
I was in [SR] for a brief period. Great bunch of guys, I really hope they are still around. I left because I was a admin on the Redline Racing servers, but couldn't be in a team just in case of favoritism. So I stuck with the admining side.
My reasons for not playing in over 18 months?
Basically, as many of you know, LFS is will suck up your social life and it did. But, after passing my driving test, I was always out which left zero time for LFS Then my G25 broke (Gah!) so that put a total stop to playing. I had a brief go on demo with a keyboard and that refreshed my love for the game.
I'm getting my own place this month, and one thing I plan on buying is another G25, then I will be back I will stay active on the forums like I used to until then though
Strange. I've got a BMW and I'm a bouncer (read: Doorman), but the 11 year old girl thing is a no-no...far to old, anyway...
I still vote for the 316, you are looking at about £1000 for a decent one anyway, remember this is a 10+ year old car, £1000-£1500 is about right for a good one.
Tristan - How is BMW chav? To be honest, its very hard to buy a first car that isn't chav. Atleast he isn't thinking about going down the usual Saxo/106/Cosra route.
As a fairly new driver, I would say that £2k to insure a half decent car is the norm. I know about of first time drivers paying circa £2000 for insurance and I am in a much lower risk area than Sam. Amazingly, a BMW was cheaper for me to insure than something smaller.
Reliability - The E36 is fairly reliable. The build quality and quality of components are second to none. Things to look out for are rusty rear arches, overheating as the original water pumps had a bit of plastic in then that always broke, but the later ones come with a metal bit so they are more durable. Anyway, if anything is a miss, like someone said, they are simple to work on, I changed a PAS pump all on my tod in about 20 minutes with not a great deal of mechanical knowledge. There are tons of breakers around, as well as BMW specialists, there are also countless forums, a few even dedicated to the E36 itself.
Expensive road tax? It will cost no more than any 1.6 made before 2001.
Tyres? I had 225/45/17 on the front and 245/40/17 on the back, I used to get part worns at £25 each.
Fuel - They arent that bad on fuel so he won't have to worry about that. I for one and I'm sure Sam feels the same, I'd rather pay (and I did) that little bit extra here and there to drive a BMW than to pay a bit cheaper and driver a Pug 205 diesel.
RWD is where its at Nice to hear its the 3.2 version Its called the M3 Evolution over here, is it the same in the US? Still not as much power out the factory as what the Euro 3.2 kicks out, but its still ///M Power none-the less
Sam: Adrian Flux wouldn't insure me on a BMW till I was 19 :S
Its because we are British You have to be atleast 25 in the UK to even think about an M3 and even then you will be paying over £1000. Like I said, I am paying £1600 but I am rather paying slightly more than friends with 1.1 Fiestas or sometimes, I am paying less.
Off-topic: What model M3 do you have mate? 3.0 or 3.2?
